The World Menu Heist 2.0 has been one of McDonald’s UK’s biggest hits of 2026 — but the clock is ticking. The limited-time range doesn’t end all at once: the first three items disappear on 20 October 2026, a week away, while the rest follow on 16 November. If there are items you still haven’t tried, now is the time to plan your visit.
This is an independent guide and we are not affiliated with McDonald’s Corporation. End dates are based on McDonald’s UK’s published schedule; individual restaurants may sell through popular items earlier.
Leaving on 20 October 2026: the first wave
Three items leave the menu on 20 October. These are the ones to prioritise:
- Big Rösti (Germany) — around £6.99. The headline burger of the range: a crispy potato rösti layered with a beef patty, streaky bacon, cheese and baconnaise. It’s the most talked-about item of the Heist and the one most likely to be missed when it’s gone.
- Maple & Cheddar Chicken (Canada) — around £7.29. A crispy chicken fillet with maple-style glaze and melted cheddar — the sweet-and-savoury combination that Canadian McDonald’s fans have loved for years.
- Guava x Sprite Zero (India) — around £2.39. A tropical guava twist on Sprite Zero. The quietest item of the range, but the only Heist drink — once it’s gone, it’s gone.
If you only make one Heist trip before the 20th, make it about the two burgers. Drinks and limited flavours come and go; a genuinely new burger build is rarer.
Staying until 16 November 2026: the second wave
The remaining seven items stick around for almost another month, until 16 November:
- Mac & Cheese Triangles (UAE) — around £2.89, or roughly £7.09 for a sharebox. The returning favourite from last year’s Heist — deep-fried mac and cheese bites that reportedly sold out in many restaurants on their first run.
- Paprika McShaker Fries (Netherlands) — around £2.29. Fries with a sachet of paprika seasoning to shake through the bag yourself. See the full fries & sides menu.
- S’mores McFlurry (Canada) — around £2.69, or £1.99 for a mini. Marshmallow pieces, chocolate sauce and biscuit crumb swirled through soft-serve. See our McFlurry flavours guide for the full range.
- Szechuan Sauce (China) — around £0.70 a dip pot. The cult sauce with a near-legendary reputation. On previous limited runs it reportedly sold out quickly in many restaurants, so don’t assume it will last until 16 November just because the date says so.
- Chicken & Egg McMuffin (Australia) — around £4.39. Breakfast hours only. See the breakfast menu & prices.
- Chicken & Bacon McMuffin (Australia) — around £4.59. Breakfast hours only. See the breakfast menu & prices.
A word of warning: “available until” means the scheduled end of the range, not a guarantee. Popular items can and do sell out earlier — that’s the nature of limited editions.
Coming next: 4 new Heist items from 20 October 2026
The Heist isn’t over when the first wave leaves. McDonald’s has announced four brand-new Heist items launching on Tuesday 20 October 2026 — the day after the first wave’s last day:
The four new items launching 20 October are covered in full in our 20 October menu guide, with the full price list and portion options.
- Chicken McWings (China) — wings come to McDonald’s UK for the first time ever. 3-piece from £3.49, 5-piece from £5.49, or a 5-piece Medium Extra Value Meal from £7.19; a 10-piece sharing box is app-only.
- McExtreme (Spain) — two beef patties, bacon, crispy onions, cheese slices and a creamy baconnaise sauce in a toasted glazed sesame-seed bun. £8.99, or £11.09 as a Medium Extra Value Meal.
- Twix White Salted Caramel McFlurry (Germany) — soft-serve swirled with white chocolate Twix pieces and salted caramel sauce, in classic and mini sizes.
- Peach x Sprite Zero (Singapore) — peach syrup with Sprite Zero over ice. Note: this is a NEW drink — not the Guava x Sprite Zero that’s leaving.
End dates for these four have not been announced.
What to try first: a priority order
If you’re rationing your visits — and with October’s new menu items landing too — here’s the sensible order:
- Big Rösti — the signature item, gone on 20 October. This is the one people will be talking about missing.
- Maple & Cheddar Chicken — the other 20 October departure, and the most unusual flavour combination of the range.
- Szechuan Sauce — technically available until 16 November, but its history of selling out fast makes it the riskiest “I’ll get it later” item. See the full sauces list for the complete range.
- Mac & Cheese Triangles — the proven crowd-pleaser; the sharebox is good value for groups.
- S’mores McFlurry — dessert is the easiest win if you’re already ordering.

How to check what’s still available near you
Availability varies by restaurant, and the app is the most reliable source of truth:
- Check the MyMcDonald’s app before travelling — the menu for your chosen restaurant shows what’s currently on offer.
- Go sooner rather than later in the day for the most popular items; sell-outs tend to happen in the evening.
- Delivery (Uber Eats, Just Eat, Deliveroo) generally carries the Heist range too, but menu prices are typically higher than in-store, plus fees. Check October deals & offers before you order.
Frequently Asked Questions
When does the McDonald’s World Menu Heist end? It ends in two waves: the Big Rösti, Maple & Cheddar Chicken and Guava x Sprite Zero leave on 20 October 2026, and the remaining items leave on 16 November 2026.
Which Heist items are leaving first? The Big Rösti, Maple & Cheddar Chicken and Guava x Sprite Zero — all gone after 20 October 2026.
Will the Heist items come back?
Nobody knows. The Mac & Cheese Triangles returned after last year’s Heist, so comebacks are possible, but nothing has been announced. Treat each item as gone for good once its date passes.
Can I still get Szechuan Sauce after 20 October? Yes — the Szechuan Sauce is in the second wave, scheduled until 16 November. But it has reportedly sold out early on previous runs, so don’t leave it too late.
Are Heist items available in every UK restaurant?
Participation can vary by restaurant, so check the app or your local branch’s menu before making a special trip.
Is the Heist range available on delivery?
Generally yes through the usual delivery partners, though prices are typically higher than in-store.
Are the leaving Heist items being replaced?
Yes. McDonald’s announced four brand-new Heist items launching 20 October 2026 — the day after the first wave’s last day. See “Coming next” above for the full list and prices.
What are the new McDonald’s Heist items on 20 October 2026?
Chicken McWings (China, first time in the UK, from £3.49), McExtreme (Spain, £8.99), Twix White Salted Caramel McFlurry (Germany) and Peach x Sprite Zero (Singapore). End dates have not been announced.
Is Peach x Sprite Zero the same as Guava x Sprite Zero? No — they are different drinks. Guava x Sprite Zero (India) leaves with the first wave on 20 October; Peach x Sprite Zero (Singapore) arrives with the second wave on 20 October.
How long will the new 20 October items stay?
Unknown — McDonald’s has not announced end dates for the four new items.
Final thoughts
The staggered ending is actually good news: it gives you two deadlines instead of one. But the 20 October cut-off is close — if the Big Rösti or the Maple & Cheddar Chicken are on your list, this week or next is the time. Everything else gets a stay of execution until mid-November, with the Szechuan Sauce the obvious “don’t risk it” exception. If you’re planning a visit during the school
break, our October half-term family guide covers what’s still on the menu and the cheapest ways to feed the family.
